A0 – A1 Survival Polish – an introductory programme for complete beginners which comprises basic vocabulary and expressions necessary for everyday communication and situations. The focus is on techniques for asking simple questions (What-Where-When) and obtaining information. Basic grammar constructions and vocabulary 200-500 words are introduced as well as reading and writing introductory texts, especially reading important notices, like entrance, way out, closed – open hours, danger, etc.).
A1-A2 Communication – is a comprehensive course for beginners developing fundamental vocabulary and language skills for efficient communication in typical life situation, using expressions of politeness with focus on cultural differences, expressing intentions, needs and emotions, practising grammar in a model context.
Emphasis is on language skills for holding a simple conversation, developing reading and writing skills (writing simple texts like notices, e-mails, SMS). The programme introduces foreigners to Polish life and language with elements of Polish culture, traditions, and lifestyle. It prepares students to make themselves understood in such situations like giving instructions, asking for help, explaining the problem, sharing an opinion.
The program continues developing techniques for asking general questions and obtaining-giving information. Students extend their vocabulary to 700 words and practice it in basic grammar constructions.
A2-B1 Elementary – this programme introduces students to the Polish language system, equips them with a basic vocabulary of about 1500-2000 words and gives them practical knowledge of Polish grammar. It prepares them to hold a conversation on general topics, read and write simple texts, ask questions, establish rapport and generally express themselves.
B1-B2 Breaking Waves – this programme develops vocabulary (up to 3000 words) and practical knowledge of Polish grammar.
Students practise conversation skills, especially in expressing intentions, needs, preferences. The programme introduces the reading of newspapers and listening to TV and extending students’ comprehension and writing abilities.
B2 Confidence – a programme which includes extensive vocabulary (up to 5000 words) and grammar to make students feel confident in speaking. It develops reading, listening and writing skills. It prepares students to follow a normal conversation and read and listen to news stories in the media.
B2-C1 Development – the programme trains students to achieve more freedom in using the language system by using different styles of speech and expressive forms.
Students will learn how to use an appropriate to the situation and intention style of speaking. Students develop their creativity in speaking and writing and extend their vocabulary up to 7000 words.
C1 Proficiency Level – this programme extends vocabulary up to 10000 words and grammar (word-formation, more complicated syntax, specifically Polish expressions and idioms).
It prepares students to think in Polish, effectively participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, read general and specialised texts and write more extended compositions, make/draft professional correspondence, take reasonably accurate notes in meetings.
C1-C2 Fluency Level – the programme extends vocabulary and grammar, especially syntax, to reach the level of a native speaker so that you could advise on or talk about complex or sensitive issues, understand colloquial references and deal confidently with hostile questions.
You will also develop your writing and reading skills to understand documents, reports that include the finer points of complex texts.
You will be able towrite letters on any subject and full notes of meetings or seminars with functional expression and accuracy.
